According to the 2016 Corruption Perception Index from Transparency International, 66% of countries in the Americas scored below 50 (on a scale of 0-100, with 0 being highly corrupted and 100 being 100 very clean), the top score being Canada, and the worst being Venezuela. Compare that to the Europe and Central Asia where only 48% of countries scored below 50, the Middle East and North Africa at 83%, and Asia Pacific at 70%.
